We are looking for someone passionate about making a difference. In this role, you will lead the delivery of national and international reports that drive the sustainable management of Wales’ natural resources.
You will work across diverse environmental topics nature conservation, water, industry, and waste ensuring our reporting is accurate, timely, and impactful. From managing complex projects and analysing data to collaborating with government and partners, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Wales monitors and reports on the state of its environment.
As a specialist lead, you will influence decisions, mentor colleagues, and develop innovative approaches to improve reporting efficiency. You’ll oversee budgets, guide governance groups, and provide expert advice across Natural Resources Wales.
You will have experience designing, developing and implementing reporting and analytical tools from scratch, ideally using Power BI, FME and R and be confident in turning complex environment datasets into meaningful insights and descision-support products.
We are looking for candidates with knowledge of the Water Framework Directive and wider environmental reporting and regulatory requirements, who can apply this understanding to deliver robust environmental evidence, performance reporting and statutory outputs.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
